Roxie Brown

Senior Program Manager

Roxie Brown is the senior program manager of the U.S. Department of Energy Sunshot program, Solar Training Network. The Solar Training Network is a nationwide solar workforce development program designed increase access to solar training and to create a steady workforce pipeline to meet the needs of the burgeoning solar industry. As the program lead, Roxie is responsible for program development, member recruitment, solar jobs strategy commission chairing, and overall program success.

Before coming to The Solar Foundation, Roxie spent four years working for the Oregon-based American solar manufacturer, SolarWorld. She coordinated SolarWorld’s national solar installer network and directed their annual dealer conferences, the “SolarWorld Installer Summits”. Roxie brings with her a lifelong passion for renewable energy and energy education, stemming from an early childhood experience that inspired her to “change the world” through alternative energy advocacy. She has a BA from UC Davis in International Energy Relations and, in her free time, enjoys writing, weight training, and guest speaking at schools about renewable energy.

Tim OlsonProgram Manager

Tim Olson

Program Manager

Tim Olson currently serves as Program Manager with The Solar Foundation for programs, including: CivicPACE and the SunShot Solar Outreach Partnership. In this capacity, Tim is helping local governments reduce regulatory and financial barriers to solar adoption, and is supporting the development of the future solar workforce. Tim also provides internal legal support to the organization.

Prior to joining TSF, Tim was the Legal and Marketing Director for a private manufacturing and distribution company in Maryland. Tim received his J.D., with honors, from The George Washington University Law School, where he focused his studies on energy and environmental law and policy issues. During law school Tim was a member of The George Washington University Law Review, and held positions at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies. Tim is currently barred in the State of Maryland. Before law school, Tim studied Environmental Science and Physics at Wheaton College in Massachusetts.

Colin Nackerman

Program Coordinator

Colin Nackerman serves as a Program Coordinator with the Solar Training Network, a U.S. Department of Energy Sunshot program administrated by The Solar Foundation. He primarily helps manage member recruitment, research, this web platform, and overall program development. As someone passionate about moving toward a clean energy economy and working to help people, he is thrilled to be working on the Solar Training Network because it directly helps people find careers while helping the solar industry grow.

Before joining The Solar Foundation, Colin spent the previous few years working in the climate field while studying Environmental Policy at George Mason University. For the last two years, he worked at the Center for Ocean-Land-Atmosphere Studies (COLA) where he assisted with research and administrative support. He also interned with the Center for Climate Change Communication and the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR). Colin also spends much of his time and passion in grassroots organizing and campaign management for various environmental causes.
